Standard partially implementing the Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) in Brazil entered into force [31763] On 26 September 2009, Brazilian Standard NBR 14725 Chemicals. As of 27 February 2011 they are mandatory.

Standard partially implementing the Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) in Brazil entered into force [31763] 

On 26 September 2009, Brazilian Standard NBR 14725 Chemicals - Information About Safety, Health, and Environment entered into force. This standard, which is divided into four parts - terminology, classification system, labeling, and safety data sheet, partially implements the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) in Brazil. It reviews and replaces NBR 14725:2005 Safety Data Sheet for Chemical Product. As of 27 February 2011, the requirements on classification and labeling of chemicals and on safety data sheets laid down in NBR 14725:2009 are mandatory.
